Design and Build Quality of Clevo NH70
Let’s start with the obvious—the design and the build quality of Clevo NH70 is actually great for the price you are paying for this laptop. I have to tell you that in this price, you are not going to get a class-leading design but as far as my experience is concerned, I have not really run into any issues. The laptop does have a bit of a flex in the chassis but overall, you are looking at an excellent offering and the design is just the right amount of futuristic without really being too obnoxious.
Keyboard, Trackpad, and Speakers
Moving on, we are going to take a look at the keyboard, trackpad, and speakers. The first two being the most crucial whenever you are getting your hands on a new laptop. Why? Well, these are going to decide just how good the laptop is in terms of usability factor and you cannot just invest in something that simply doesn’t work the way you want it too.
So, what’s good about the keyboard and trackpad? Well, I honestly like the keyboard, it has a nice feel to it, and works really well if you are typing away for long hours. The trackpad could have been better if it were on the larger side but it is more than serviceable for the price you are paying.
The speakers are decent, too. However, I would not expect you to start a house party. They are good to play games on and watch movies, but nothing too groundbreaking.
Display, Battery Life, and Ports
We are now coming to the display, battery life, and ports. Three of the critical aspects of any laptop that you can get your hands on. If you have been looking for something that is solid across the board, then the Clevo NH70 definitely gets the job done.
I do love the display and although this was a huge difference for me because my primary laptop only has a 13-inch display, a 17.3-inch display was really enjoyable as far as gaming is concerned, and I cannot really find myself complaining about how the quality of the display is. You are getting full HD resolution, so it definitely is good and pair that with the GTX 1650 found in the laptop, you can surely play some games on it.
The battery life is what saddens me because although you should not be losing all of it, the battery life on the Clevo NH70 is not the best in business, and honestly, it shouldn’t be an issue as long as you have a charger at hand.
Last but not the least, the ports are also decent enough. You are not going to get the best in the business but for the price you are pay, I don’t think anything can go drastically wrong.
Thermal and Acoustic Performance
The last bit that we are going to pay attention to refers to the thermals and acoustic performance of Clevo NH70. While it never made a huge deal for me to have a laptop that runs loudly, a lot of people have complained about it in the past.
Thankfully, in my usage, I did not notice the laptop getting noticeably loud. Sure, it is still audible, but never to the extent of being unbearable.
As far as the thermals are concerned, the laptop does get hot when it is under full load, but it is never to an extent that it starts throttling. I’d still suggest that you are keeping the laptop’s airflow in mind.
